Terms and Conditions

  1. All treatments are carried out in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 which states that veterinary consent must be obtained before treating/working on an animal which is under vet supervision. If your horse is healthy and not under vet supervision for any illness or injury then vet consent is not required and we can proceed with the treatment.

  1. Nicki Day Equine Massage Therapist (NDEMT) is unable to diagnose any problems your horse/pony may have. If your horse/pony does not improve, your Veterinary Surgeon should be consulted. Equine Massage Therapy is not a replacement for veterinary care but is to be used alongside conventional health care.

  1. At least 48 hours notice is required for appointment cancellations, this is to allow a practical amount of time to potentially rebook the appointment. As a small business, numerous last minute cancellations can have a huge impact and NDEMT asks that you please give ample notice in order to reduce loss of earnings. Failure to do so may result in you still being charged.

  1. If your horse/pony has sustained an injury or developed an illness between booking the appointment and NDEMT attending your horse/pony for treatment, NDEMT may be unable to treat your horse/pony.

  1. Owners are required to notify NDEMT if, during a course of treatments, the animal’s injury or condition worsens, or if the veterinary surgeon advises that treatment is stopped or suspended.

  1. Should there be an outbreak of a contagious or infectious disease on the yard where your horse/pony is kept (for example equine influenza, equine herpes, strangles or ringworm), please inform NDEMT no later than 48 hours prior to the date and time of the scheduled appointment or, as soon as possible thereafter.

  1. If you or any member of your family have been in contact with anyone displaying COVID-19 symptoms, please inform NDEMT no later than 48 hours prior to the date and time of the scheduled appointment or, as soon as possible thereafter.

  1. Whilst every care is taken of the animal undergoing treatment, it is done entirely at the owner’s risk.

  1. Please have your horse clean and dry before treatments and provide a safe environment to perform the massage.

  1. Payment is required by way of cash or bank transfer/Paypal at the time of the appointment.
